The Oppenweher Moor is an impressive area, which with its area of about 720 hectares is one of the most important raised bogs in northwest Germany. It is an important habitat for rare and endangered bird species and attracts many visitors every year who want to experience nature in its untouched beauty. The autumn crane resting season is particularly impressive, when thousands of cranes stop at the Oppenweher Moor on their migration south. At peak times, up to 40,000 cranes can be observed here. For nature lovers, the Oppenweher Moor offers an opportunity to experience the beauty and importance of nature up close. Visitors will be amazed by nature and the diversity of flora and fauna.
