Heimathaus Wehdem

The classroom

The Heimathaus houses a reconstructed classroom from the old Wehdem village school. Here one feels transported back to the time around 1900. On the benches preserved in the Heimathaus, writing exercises were carried out in those days with pen and ink under the sharp eyes of the village school teacher. Original teaching cards and recipes on how to make a "good black ink", old school benches and desks create an authentic atmosphere. In the one-class village school, students from several grades were taught geography, history, arithmetic and writing at the same time.
