The Levern museum

IN HONOREM DEI ECCLESIAE EMOLUMENTUM ET MENISTRI COMMODITATEM AEDIFICIUM PAROCHIALE EXTRUCTUM ANNO 1714. So it can still be read on the archway of today's Heimathaus Levern. Translated: For the glory of God, for the benefit of the church and for the convenience of its servant, the parsonage was built in 1714. The building, constructed in the style of a Low German hall house, served as a parsonage until 1817 and then stood empty for a while. In the 1930-ies it was restored and until the end of the Second World War in 1945 it was used by the church as a sexton's and teacher's residence. In 1963, the Levern office rented the house and used it as an office building. Municipal employees moved into their offices here.

The local history society

In 1988, the house was made available to the local history society as a local history room, initially in part for the exhibition of local cultural assets. Since the attic was converted in 1995, all rooms can be used as exhibition space. The history of the village of Levern and the region is preserved and conveyed there. The exhibits illustrate rural life and work in Levern as well as religious and military history.
